Education

I received my B.S. degree in Recreation from Jacksonville State University in 1993. Then got my teachers certificate in History and PE in 1999. I received my Masters Degree in Education Administration in 2006.



Experience

I started teaching at Lyman Ward Military Academy in 1999. Where I taught 9th grade World History. In 2008 I moved to Daleville High School and taught PE. In 2010 I moved to Talladega High School I taught 9th grade world history. In 2011 I moved to Linden High School where I taught every thing from 6th grade to 12 grade History. In 2016 I move to Thomasville High School where I taught 10 grade U.S. History and 12 grade Government and Economics. Now I am at Geneva County High School and happy to be here.



Bio

My name is Coach Hank Hurley. I graduated from Handley High School in 1986. The falling fall I attend Southern Union that falling fall and after one semester I joined the Alabama Army National Guard which I spent 21 years in and spent one year in Iraq in 2005 and 2006. After basic training I returned to Souther Union then transfer to Jacksonville State University where I got my degree in Recreation. After not being able to find a job that would by the bills I went back to school and got my teachers certificate in History and PE. After graduation a got a job at Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill Alabama. There I was the 9th grade history teacher and assistant football coach. I would become the Head Football and Basketball coach before I left in 2008. There I went to Daleville High school as the PE teacher and offense line/ offense coordinator. Then I went to Talladega high school as the B-Team head coach and world history teacher. in 2011 I moved to Linden High school where I was the History teacher, defense coordinator and head track coach. After 5 year there I was offered a job at Thomasville High School where my son was attending and would be able to coach him on the field so I took the job there and taught 10 grade U.S. History and JV football coach. Now I am here at Geneva County High School and very happy to be here . It is great to be a DAWG!
